Soon after, Niel Metlekamp joined the firm as partner and they established a Knysna branch. During the 1980’s Hennie Scholtz, Francois Conradie and Jannie Venter joined the firm as partners of the Mossel bay, Oudtshoorn and Plettenberg Bay offices.

In the 1990’s the firm was joined by Skutte Maasdorp, Adolf Grobler, Francois Slabber and Gerhard Barnard.

In 1999 Charles Minie joined the firm they renamed the old Alwyn Burger and Co to BMS Chartered Accountants, a shortened name for Barnard, Minie, and Slabber.

In 2005 BMS Chartered Accountants merged with another firm Compendium Auditors and Cobus Goosen and Jaco Hugo also joined the firm as partners in the new firm named BMS Compendium Auditors.

In 2010 the 3 partners, Minie, Goosen and Hugo decided to join the PKF Network. In that same year Stef Lategan merged his private accounting firm into the PKF George office.

In 2018 Grant Thornton joined Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobbodo and we decided that the best fit for our staff and clients will be to move back to the PKF Network. Since late 2018, Cobus Goosen, Jaco Hugo and Stef Lategan managed PKF George office as Charles Minie has retired at the end of 2018.
